career matchmaker results

The median annual income for camera operators in general is about $42,000. For freelance directors of photography, the average would be quite a bit higher. It is not uncommon for an established DP to earn from around $60,000 to over $120,000 a year. Beginners in the field, such as production assistants or second camera assistants, who can find regular work, often earn around $25,000 a year. Income depends on talent, experience, and whether they have won any awards. It can also depend on how many 12 to 16 hour days they can work.

There are no strict educational requirements for this career. This is a career that relies a lot on talent and experience.
